VBS July 24-28, 2017
Jesus the Good Shepherd!

Calling all children and adults! Join us this summer for our new VBS program, Jesus the Good Shepherd! Children ages 4 through 6th grade are invited to participate and we are in need of adult volunteers to be group leaders. We will spend the week of July 24-28th doing exciting activities that introduce all of us to who Jesus is and how much he loves us. This is a unique year because a team of people here at Holy Spirit are creating this program which gives us the freedom to make it uniquely Catholic! Here are some exciting parts of the program, just to name a few!

-A week-long mural craft

-A prayer time rotation where the children will learn about Jesus in the Eucharist through adoration and a group Mass on Friday

-Originally composed songs

-Bible stories that help children see Jesus as the Good Shepherd and themselves as the sheep whom Jesus seeks out and protects

-And everyone’s favorites: snacks and games!

Cost is $10 per child or $30 per family if you sign up before July 1st. After July 1st it is $20 per child or $60 per family. Program is free for children of volunteers and a nursery is available for children of volunteers who are under the age of 4. All children and volunteers will receive a t-shirt!

Thursday Evening Adult Bible Study

Thursday   7:00 pm Church Office Conference room.

This year we will be taking a look at the Gospel of Matthew. The Gospel of St. Matthew was the most popular Gospel among the early Church Fathers. Many Catholic teachings are found within its pages, from the Virgin Birth of Jesus, to the Trinity, and the role of Peter as the first Pope, to name just a few. The Gospel of Matthew teaches us what it means to be a disciple and what it means to make disciples. Come join us as we take time to study and reflect on the Gospel of Matthew, and in so doing may the Lord bless us in becoming better disciples and disciple-makers.

Family Promise

July 2nd - 16th

Holy Spirit Parish is one again hosting families this  summer.  Our guests will be here from July 2nd through July 16th.  Family Promise works with local churches to provide one to two weeks of nighttime housing for up to four families with children.  They spend their days at work, school, or looking for work and they spend their nights at the host church.  The church provides volunteers to provide evening meals, evening hosts, and overnight hosts.  We also contribute to the food and supplies needed, the set-up and clean-up, and with laundry.  This is a very rewarding ministry with many opportunities to volunteer as a family, for families.  Please contact Maureen Neighbors, coordinator, at 399-0627 or mayorkenny@aol.com.
