An Usher and Greeter are ministers of hospitality and include men, women and young adults who assist at Mass and other services.  They greet parishioners in the vestibule, assist in seating the congregation, take up the collection, assure an orderly communion procession, respond to special needs of parishioners, straighten up after the Mass/Service and assist new parishioners who whish to register in the parish.

A lector is the person who proclaims the first or second reading at Mass. This person also may lead the Psalm (in the absence of a cantor) and the Prayers of the Faithful at Mass (in the absence of the deacon)
